WHAT'S BEHIND OUR NAME?

Celebrating  twenty successful  years, Emile Lafaurie is the designer and founder of his menswear line, EMILE LAFAURIE, sold in America exclusively through SEAN. Since the opening of his Paris flagship store twenty years ago, Lafaurie has established himself as a purveyor of timelessly modern French menswear, incorporating his uncommon sense for color and inventive use of fine European fabrics.

 

While most of Lafaurie's designs would not be out of place in a classic French film, they all carry the stamp of the designer's unique contemporary vision and his meticulous attention to texture and color.



Born and educated in Paris, Pierre Emile Lafaurie grew up among the bohemians of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, sharing a century-old apartment with his mother, an aunt, two ducks and a very big dog. This unorthodox lifestyle influenced the relaxed old-Paris atmosphere of Lafaurie's first store which opened in 1992, just off the Place des Vosges.  



Sean Cassidy, a former marketing executive, first met the French designer in Paris while shopping at Lafaurie’s Marais boutique. Cassidy frequented the store on each visit to Paris, often buying an entire collection for himself.  A friendship grew and eventually the two became business partners.

The brand is available in France at Emile’s boutiques as well as in over twenty stores throughout Europe and exclusively at SEAN in the U.S.
